I graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. I have a Master of Science and a Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership. I am a State of Florida certified K-12 principal.

During my 36-year career with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, I was a teacher, an assistant principal and a principal. In 2009, I was recognized as the District Principal of the Year by Miami-Dade County Public Schools. During my tenure as principal at Miami Lakes K-8 Center, I helped the school community convert an elementary school into a K-8 Center. I also led the school as we maintained our A+ grade designated by the State of Florida for 15 consecutive years.

Since the beginning of my career, I wanted to own a preschool. Prior to my retirement, I named the school I wanted to open “My Little Red Schoolhouse.” I looked at several locations in the Gainesville area and subsequently found this beautiful property with a similar name. It was exactly what I had envisioned. I am blessed to be working with fantastic teachers, wonderful children and supportive parents. I am fulfilling my lifelong dream as the owner of “My Little Red Schoolhouse.”
